Photographing Fast-paced Motorsports in Scotland

We managed to spend an incredible day at the Knockhill Motorsport Race Course in Scotland taking shots of the high speed cars going around the legendary track competing in a number of championships held that day.

To capture the events being held all day I used the Fujifilm X-H2S fitted with the Fujinon XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR lens. The camera is set to manual throughout the events with a low shutter speed (1/30) to capture the cars at high speed whilst blurring the background. For action shots showing the cars compete the shutter is set high, 1/1000+ to ensure the power moves are captured.

In the pit lane the Fuji X-T15 was used along with either the excellent FUJINON XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II or FUJINON XF23mmF1.4 R LM WR to capture the crews getting the cars ready for the next big race.
